I write to you today regarding an unfair process that affects nearly a million registered voters in Maryland -- almost one out of four registered voters.The current election system is designed to exclude those like me who have not joined one party or another. We are registered as "unaffiliated" and feel left out.
I am deeply concerned at the millions of tax payer dollars that go to fund primary elections that exclude me and many other taxpayers who help pay for these elections.
I ask that you:

consider the battle many unaffiliated voters, like me, face when trying to vote in a primary. We must either switch party affiliation to Republican or Democrat; or, join a party whose values we don`t share.

value my right to vote over your chosen party.

support the rights of all registered voters in Maryland, regardless of party affiliation or non-affiliation by introducing a bill that would bring open primaries to our State.
